Working at FRFG - Voices of former interns and staff

Marisa dos Reis

marisa_new"I worked as a European Volunteer at FRFG from 2009 to 2010. I never thought of going abroad before, but today I cannot think of a single reason for not doing it! In fact, today I realise that I had the amazing opportunity of living a truly European experience. It was a very rewarding period from all points of view. Furthermore, it changed both my personal and professional lives. For example, working in an international environment enabled me develop new skills such as foreign languages and intercultural competences. I became aware of new topics such as the political and civil rights of children, the protection of the interests of future individuals and entire generations. My work at FRFG was awarded with an "outstanding" certificate by the European Commission. Today, my professional path has changed completely: I have decided to focus my studies on the topic of intergenerational justice and law. I am now completing a PhD programme in Legal and Political Sciences in Portugal, my country of origin. I was successful in my application thanks to all the opportunities that living in Germany and working at FRFG provided me with. Thank you FRFG!"
Marisa dos Reis, EVS Member of Staff from 2009 until 2010 and External Research Assistant until March 2012. She is now a member of the FRFG's Editorial Board.

Sebastian Althoff

sebastian_small"What I especially liked about my intership at the FRFG was that I was involved in everything and that I knew so much about what was going on. For instance, I was able to attend an important meeting at the Landtag (regional parliament of Baden-Württemberg) and took part in meetings of the Board of Directors."
Sebastian Althoff, Intern from February until April 2012.
