Publication of the call for papers and announcement of the deadline for submissions

youth_quotasThe official call for papers for the biennial Demography Prize, endowed with a prize fund of €10,000 for winning essayists, is now accessible.

The 2012/13 prize is devoted to the topic of youth quotas and their possible effectiveness in counterbalancing intergenerational injustices in political bodies and institutions. The pressing question of how to manage the problems associated with the ageing populations furnishes the topic with manifest contemporary relevance and a stimulating socio-political backdrop. The awarding consortium for the upcoming 2012/13 award is composed of the FRFG and the Intergenerational Foundation (IF), a London-based think tank. The prize was initiated and is funded by the Stiftung Apfelbaum.

All information necessary for a formal submission can be found here. The deadline for submissions is the 1st July, 2013.
