UN-activities of the FRFG

ImageSince 2005 the FRFG has Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the UN. ECOSOC is an organ of the UN mainly in charge of coordinating the special organisations within the UN Framework like UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) and UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and the cooperation of the UN with NGOs.

Thanks to its Consultative Status the FRFG can participate in meetings of the ECOSOC and its sub-organs and committees. The FRFG is trying to influence the agenda of the ECOSOC through comprehensive advocacy input.

Furthermore the FRFG sees its work as complementary to the UN work in many areas. Thus it is a clear aim of the FRFG to enhance visibility of UN activities in the field of intergenerational justice and to profit from these activities. Conference and meeting participations of the FRFG will be published here in future.
